Our Story
How It All Began
We love animals. We have three of our own; Sophie (Cavalier/Poodle), Bandit (Pekingese/Poodle) and Tundra (Cavalier/Lhasa Apso). Our hearts had room for more, so we tried to foster dogs. Helping dogs find a forever home was very rewarding. But, we became attached to each and everyone and had a hard time letting go when they were able to find the right family.
During our family vacations, we tried using boarding facilities, but we were uncomfortable leaving them in a cement environment with multiple dogs. Bandit was so small that the boarding place had to keep him separate from the larger dogs. They thought he was a squeaky toy. Our dogs are very shy and the boarding places were very stressful for them. We figured other families must feel the same way.
With the heart to love more dogs and the desire to find an adequate space for pups to stay during trips, we started to board dogs in 2018 in our home. It is one of the best decisions we made.
We have a 6-foot fence to allow the dogs to run around the backyard and enjoy activities. In the winter we use the snowblower to make trails in the backyard to allow the smaller dogs the ability to run. You should see the little guys race around the tracks! Inside the home, we have gates blocking the stairways to the front entry to eliminate any dogs exiting the home without an adequate leash and harness restraints. We also have a water fountain to provide the freshest water possible throughout the day.
Schedules and habits: We try to keep things similar to your daily routines; eating at the same time of day. If your dog is used to being crated, we are able to provide the kennel (metal collapsible). We find sometimes, they are just more comfortable having open access to a kennel to relax in during the day. If they sleep on the bed, they are welcome to do the same in our home.
